Volunteer Positions
We have just begun our 2008-2009 year here at the Mothers' Center and it's a time to choose how we can best help out this great organization. As a co-op we need to lend a hand volunteering for one of the many positions that manage the Center. Please take a look at the details of each position and see which best suits you. It could be something you want to learn, or an area where you most succeed. Of course the previous volunteers will help in the transition and send you on the right path. We each may add our own flair to the positions, but over all the tasks are the same. As you will see there are quite a few positions. Dividing the tasks allows us to lend a hand, while maintaining our hectic lives as Moms. The open positions will be listed within the newsletter. Please feel free to contact the current members on advice and information about the positions. For a general description, please click here.
Community Resource Info
A community resource book is being put together in order to help members find information that they need, such as doctors, hospitals and help lines, or want, such as infant/toddler programs, preschools, and activity/party places. This book will be a working document, which will be updated on an as-needed basis. Additional forms will be available in the Discussion Room.
Please help make this book the best it can possibly be by filling out the questionnaire (please use additional paper for more recommendations, if necessary). It can then be placed in the folder in the Discussion Room labeled 'Community Resource Information'. Thank you for your participation!
In addition to the Mothers' Center book you can view the Community Resource Database of Long Island at www.crdli.org
